Okay, so here it is. The Tower, Rooftops and Pits are all thanks to Bailywolf, but I wasn’t sure how I should credit the original writer, now that in-line comments are gone.

Also, I’m not entirely sure whether this page should be linked to from settings or fan rules. I mean, it’s not a setting, right? It’s a tool for expanding/creating/faking settings. Well, whatever people think.

You mean these, right?

They’re as simple as [comment author="Russell"]this[/comment]

Thanks for giving this a start. I’ve added my own organizational touches; I think it’ll be a department all its own.

I was picturing these as index-card sized location shorts, but some of these are quite long, a page or better. Is less more for this kind of thing, or would longer be better?

I was thinking of them more as one-pagers, myself- a lot like Dan Bayn’s Action Scenes column. Thoughts?

Either one works, really. I like the publish bit, but it may get cumbersome if we end up with more than one setting on this page- hit publish, and you have the locations for Mighty Babylon, Magical Japan Go Go Robots, and Noir Chicago all on the same page, which is less than useful unless you’re running, I dunno, Wushu Rifts. I think I may split it off into a separate page and redo the breadcrumb links before too many more of these get posted and it gets really cumbersome to change.

I’m playing with an alternate implementation of the publish feature that might alleviate the problem of expansiveness a bit.

Cool. Another thought I had: when you publish, the page title appears as a chapter heading, and then directly below it, the same title appears again because it has been placed as a heading within the page. Should we just take those out of the text?

I’m going to redo the headings for the Wiki so that they auto-title themselves. So, yeah, leave those out for now. Thanks.

Okay, we now have a PDF publishing feature that, while it’s still in need of some tweaking, lets you take a shopping-cart approach downloading locations. Once I’ve played with it a little more, this will become available for everything, including the various rules.
