The Wushu Index now features an automatic list of the latest RPGnet threads about Wushu.

I added a fun little feature today. Pages in the Profiles section now include a list of the user’s last 10 contributions to the wiki. You can click on my name below to see how it works.

Note that these have only been logged since yesterday, so anything you did before then won’t display.

I fixed a longstanding bug in the Rich Text editor where quotes got mangled.

Because of continued spam, I’ve instituted a limit on external links. From now on, links to unapproved external sites will have to be approved by a site administrator, and any single post with more than 10 links to unapproved external sites will not be permitted. RPGnet is already on the list of approved sites, as are (I believe) all the sites linked to on existing pages. Let me know if I missed any.

Hopefully, I’ll soon be able to allow non-administrators to approve links.

Dear Nick the robot master: I am sorry to hear about your apparent financial situation. However, spamming this site is not likely to help. And I really can’t allow you to keep doing it.

The Profiles section has now been given a default password. The password is “profiles”, and should appear on the password prompt page.

Robert, I’m not able to access RPGnet at this time, so I’m having trouble responding to PMs.

I’ve also temporarily started requiring a password for the Wushu section. The password is “wushu”, and should appear on the password prompt page.

We had spam again. Fun.

Once again, it was Robert Bingham who noticed the spam first, and he took the lead in removing it. This bot was more sophisticated than its predecessors.

To reduce the level of effort involved in recovering from another attack, I’ve temporarily password-protected some sections of the wiki that aren’t typically edited by the general public (like HomePage). If you’d like to comment on something on those pages, just use the discussion feature.

Time to look at new ways to keep the robobastards out.

Fixed the search feature.

I apologize for the instability this evening. However, I have good news: automatic PDF generation is now available from many pages, including the Wushu Open rules.

I’m doing some minor maintenance before installing new software. You may experience some unusual behavior with printing between 8 and 10 Eastern US time.

Based on some great ideas from RPGnet, we now have a Locations section for Wushu, where you can find all sorts of places for your heroes to party and fight. The initial entries wind through the streets (and rooftops!) of a great, ancient city.

We had a minor spam attack. Oddly enough, one of the things it advertised was a local radio station.

I notice that I forgot to mention that I fixed the Publish button. It should be working correctly… like it has been since the day after that last entry.

The Publish button seems to be malfunctioning. I’m on it.

Well, we had quite the spam attack tonight. I’ve taken measures against the program used this time, but I don’t know how long they’ll be effective. I’ll have to think about it.

Thanks to both of the wonderful Dans who helped clean things up- Dan Bayn and Dan McSorley.

Edit: And also thanks to Robert Bingham, who gave me the heads-up.

I believe I now have the editor size working correctly in Internet Explorer. I’ve also added a plugin which lets you use a large window for editing, rather than the teeny little box in the page. Click /pm2/cookbook/richedit/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/fullscreen/images/fullscreen.gif in the rich text editor to use it.

While upgrading to PmWiki 2.0, I managed to damage the news page, so I’m starting from scratch.

The new rich text editor, which lets you edit wiki pages like you would in a word processor, is now available. There may be a few glitches; please report them here.

Addendum: One of the glitches has to do with editor size in Internet Explorer. I’ll try and fix this as soon as I can.
