Homicide detective serving the ChiPD. A contemporary of Mitch Robinson, but only barely acquainted with Max.

Hertz has investigated a few cases relevant to Xariel's investigations, including the murder of Leeza Reyes, Torimel's host (see Fast Car) and the attempted murder of Tommy Jenkins (see Bette Davis Eyes).
