Oddly, Max Harris is not named for Max von Sydow, nor was the choice of actor dicated by the character name. Not intentionally, anyway. Jeff started out calling Xariel's host "Max." When I asked him who he saw playing the character, he said "that guy from The Excorcist whose name I can never remember." Go figure.
