Ever since reading Unknown Armies, I wanted to run a game in it for two reasons. First, I love the mechanics - a great blend of light crunch with simple structure, and the brilliant way issues like mental health are integrated into the game. Second, I love the feel - that “hairs on the back of your neck” sensation that only plausible, grounded fantasy can produce. Meanwhile, a healthy diet of deconstructionist literature, film, and television has given me a theme I want to play with, and one which naturally ties into UA very neatly. UAhas always been about power and consequence - it says so right on the cover.
This is a game about just how many facets that dichotomy has: a game about human relationships, magical powers, and the challenge in understanding the difference between right and good.
“Tea and Sympathy” should have a start date of Fall 2005. I’ll be running; Russ and Angela will be playing.
More news as we get closer to curtain.
