Wushu?

Good & Evil, Incorporated

Quickstart

This page gives a quick overview of the rules for using this wiki, the basic text formatting syntax, and some notes for users of other wikis.

You can edit any page by clicking the "edit" link at the top of the page.

Ground Rules

Mostly, folk are welcome to modify pages as they like. Couple o' basic commandments:

[i]Please leave the decision to remove or alter personal comments to the administrator, unless they're yours.[/i]

That said, personal comments are transitory. Those that make amusing or enlightening remarks may stick around; those that comment on needed changes probably won't stick around longer than it takes to make those changes. They may also be edited for taste or formatting.

[i]Please don't remove content.[/i]

Changing, adding, and restructuring content is cool. Just don't remove something that was there already. So, for instance, say you're fleshing out the description of the Aristocracy? in the [i]Bleeding Earth[/i] section. Feel free to add a section on how Aristocrats have been known to have individual weaknesses. You can even fix awkward sentence structure in the description of crosses. But don't delete the section on crosses.

[i]Please don't alter session summaries you weren't in.[/i]

Adding personal comments at the bottom is cool. Way cool, actually. But don't change, say, what Klaproth said about dinner halfway through session 2, unless you were there and think the summary got it wrong.

[i]Please put comments in the appropriate place.[/i]

Comments in the middle of a document are generally okay- the exception is session summaries. If you weren't in the session, please put your personal comments at the bottom of the page.

Text Formatting

bbCode

You can use bbCode to perform basic text editing tasks:

 • [b][b]Bold[/b][/b]
 • [i][i]Italics[/i][/i]

Personal comments

You can add a personal comment like this:

[comment author="Russell"]This is a comment.[/comment]

The above text becomes:

[comment author="Russell"]This is a comment.[/comment]

Asides

Asides are handy for putting mini-sidebars in the middle of a document:

[aside]This is an aside.[/aside]

The above text becomes:

[aside]This is an aside.[/aside]

Links

You can create HTML hyperlinks by simply pasting the URL (prefixed with a protocol string, like "http://") into the text.

You can create a link to a new Wiki page by typing Page Name. If the page does not already exist, then clicking the resulting link will create it and open it for editing.

If you want to create a link to another Wiki page, but display something else, type Text to display.

If the Wiki page you want to link to is in another group (say, for example, you're in the BleedingEarth group and you want to link to Angela's player description in "Profiles"), you can do it like this: Angela.

Notes to users of other Wikis

This wiki is configured differently from others you may have used.

WikiWords

WikiWords are disabled. There are several reasons for this:

 • WikiWords look awkward when pasted to or from other software. Much of the content on this site was and will be originally written for message boards. Calling a character "BobJones" instead of "Bob Jones" looks dumb in that environment.
 • WikiWord parsing causes many common roleplaying words, such as "PCs", to become links.
 • Tons of the words we want to link do not turn naturally into WikiWords, thereby negating the convenience of creating links in that fashion.

WikiWords are still permitted in the PmWiki documentation.

Basic markup

As you've seen above, the preferred format for italics and bold is bbCode. Again, this is because we desire easy content-sharing with other software. Please conform to this.
