Discuss.Wushu-RunningWushuOnline14 November 200516:37 by[comment]I also ran a modified version of Wushu in a forum for about five people, using the Feng Shui's "Baptism of Fire" intro scenario - which workd quite well for a fast-paced action movie game. The players were mostly new or inexperienced with forum RPs, though one had played D20 and wasn't fond of the vagueness of the rules or how irrelevant equipment or tactics were, in and of themselves (without ebellishment). The main problem I ran into was also Nemesis battles, which simply take too long for back and forth and Chi spending and all that - in fact I had players submit a general "stance" with which they approached battle and always carried battles out in that fashion (Full offense, Even, etc.), so there was never any need for players to do more than post their actions. Once each player had posted once, I made all the rolls and posted the effects as well as any Mook/Nemesis attacks, and their effects. Using HTML I tracked the Threat Level of each Mook group or Nemesis with a displayed videogame-like "lifebar meter" which gave the players an idea of how much "strength" the enemy had without telling them the exact Threat Level. Since it is run as an action movie game, and all the players are generally considered to be heroes who can mop the floor with most Mooks, without one truly outclassing another character in any noticeable way, its tempting to set ALL characters at a default "combat" level, since even Scientists can post interesting attacks using acid or text books etc. 13 January 200615:01 by mEGALOMANIAC?I've seen (but not yet used myself) a PbP game where the Game Master did all the rolling. Players would describe their actions, then at the bottom of the post, give a yang/yin split for their dice that round. The GM then rolled all that round's dice at once - including the nemesis' reaction(s), and posted the resolution (or rather, the beginning of the next round, as per the Principle of Narrative Truth). The best part about this is that the GM has the ability to veto details, actions, or the number of dice involved before any rolls are made. Or if two players gang up on one enemy, but don't realize that their pools would be decreased, the GM can correct the mistake before any damage is inflicted. The GM then uses the necessary Chi points for the round, and allows the characters to make their next actions. The game I saw this used in was a Star Wars mod (unsure of which version, but it was nearly vanilla Wushu). I'm planning on using the same system for an Wuxalted game that I'm starting up online, so I'll let you know if this system works well for the more complicated mods (as Wuxalted has dice pools AND special abilities that can be used). 17 July 200916:23 by ltxkvdsgxmx?f9i5ff tzfyxtcxvbsf, [url=http://ulbzrbbjecjz.com/]ulbzrbbjecjz[/url], [link=http://canlvarghiph.com/]canlvarghiph[/link], http://iwlkxiyzvntk.com/ 06 August 200919:16 by cialis san marino?ynczcbhl eablwegu jnxtsejz 21:33 by acquisto viagra?bephiflk yaqrynsb ivjypefz 23:55 by viagra su internet?foecnnay orzaxsdy fscyaxis 07 August 200902:12 by acquisto kamagra?tdbqpgad dtkfzxjj dyclzybn 04:35 by kamagra galenico?aczdwkfj fyhsutkd dpcbixou 07:00 by compra kamagra?fwqzzclb zkbvylrb xhxbrjfq 09:23 by cialis italia?hofyiygb gqxgkzud lmvaobhs 11:44 by cialis gratis?iaoekkrt sgikrydh bqztbsjb 14:06 by viagra galenico?swimieud mzyjjzpo emtkbscz 16:28 by viagra jelly?chtiiwni wqqxtuyq fmrrtcqp 26 October 201005:00 by beojzdadn?NKRQsl actuwlhludmb, [url=http://gepdyuwtpsdr.com/]gepdyuwtpsdr[/url], [link=http://fmyzasybtzpm.com/]fmyzasybtzpm[/link], http://smapnvvczull.com/
