Construction Site

The City is always hungry for living space. Buildings spring up where none were yesterday, and old ones are torn down to make room for the new. Characters could encounter anything from a hut to a palace being built in the City.

Hooks

The construction of a new wing on an existing site is a possible entrance; a building is being torn down but hides something the characters need; the characters pursue or are pursued into a construction site.

Complications

Construction workers (mooks 1/10), a construction accident (danger 5 for 1 round), avoiding the notice of workers during the day (challenge 10), avoiding guards at night (challenge 15), site guards (mooks 1/15).

Color

Spindly scaffolding; clanging and shouting tools and workmen; the crack of the overseer's whip; precarious stacks of bricks and building materials; muddy trenches; half-finished walls and columns; the sun beating down on sweaty laborers; the coming and going of ox-drawn delivery carts; great spinning windlasses for raising materials.
