Dungeons Of The Overlord

There are prisons and there are cages and there are torture chambers in the wide world dark and hellish enough to make even a barbarian nothlander's knees quake and bowels turn to water. There are fiendish agonies and brutal torments a-plenty to be found in the savage corners of the world. But there is no place so feared as the Dungeons of the Overlord. His torturers are artists, his infliction machines well oiled, and his appetite for the pain of his enemies only equaled by his paranoia-driven ability to see those enemies everywhere. If you find yourself in the Overlord's Dungeons, remember that if you bite off your tongue, keep your mouth closed and swallow your blood, less his torture-healers notice your dying moment, and revive you for their Lord's further amusement.

Hooks...and Barb...and Burning Brands...

  • Captured! And so close to your goal! Were you stealing the Overlord's jewels? One of his wives? An ancient tome of darkest magic? Don't worry if you can't remember. When Seth Amon returns, he will loosen your tongue...and eyes...and joints...
  • Though drunk, you're not one of these soft city-bred folk! Your constitution was forged in the burning cold of the North, and the pizzle called Drink in this city hardly makes you head swim. Your companion was not so lucky though, being such a little fellow, and when the Overlord's guards came to ask you about the whereabouts of his Lordship's favorite horse, he was taken while you escaped across the Roofways. The thoughts of your boon companion stretched out on the rack for the diseased amusement of the bloated Overlord makes your barbarian blood burn- you'll see your friend freed, or die trying.
  • When word came that Kault was taken by the Overlord's despicable Unseen Guard, you knew the revolution could end before it began- Kault knows all the secrets, the recognition signs, the meeting places...and worse the names and faces of a dozen members of the Blue Lotus Society. Now, you must infiltrate the Dungeons, and rescue or kill Kault before he can reveal what he knows.

Mad Branon Bludenkine- insane barbarian prisoner in chains, waiting to be freed (Crush, Kill, Destroy 5; A Mind Like a Bent Corkscrew 4; Feral Senses 3; Totally Effing Insane 1; 5 Chi)

Kirken Jult- junior torturer, burning with ambition (Plotting Suspicious Bastard 5; Torture Artist 4; Backstabbing little Rat 3; Untrustworthy 1; 3 Chi)

Complications

Rank and File Torturers (1/10 mooks); Guards (2/5 mooks); Rescue Kault (10 limit 3 rounds or he gives up the goods); Escape the Rack! (10 limit 2 rounds or the torture begins- which makes this a 1 point threat each round); Beasts from the Deep Pits (2/10 mooks if they get loose); Rescue Friend (15 limit 5 or your friend will be hopeless insane when you get to him); Release the Prisoners! (Goal 10- reduces any active Threat by 1 as the dungeons fill with angry escaped prisoners).

Color

Stench of searing flesh like overdone pork; dank darkness lit with flickering torches; the hideous basso laugh of a gleeful torturer hard at work; the horrible screams of victims as they are tortured; wall brackets filled with arcane and crusty instruments of torment; complex water-driven machines of cogs and straps intended to disjoint, stretch, and break the human body; heavy iron gates with spikes on; gutters along the edge of rooms crusted red and drains in the floor to spill blood down into the sewers where unspeakable things slither and chitter.
