RiverDocks

River Docks

The City began long ago as a small village along a great river, and the river is still at its heart. Vessels hauling fish, grain, livestock, and other staples can be found here every day, and larger vessels travelling from distant lands often come here. The King's own ships can be spotted in his private docks near the palace.

Hooks

• Booking passage out of town, catching someone trying to leave town, meeting someone arriving.
• Snake men reportedly hunt the unwary among the wharfs.
• The Jewel of the East, a double-masted galley, will leave tonight with its precious cargo. Will you be hired to guard it, or will you decide to rob it yourself?

Complications

Dock toughs (mooks 1/10), serpent men (mooks 2/15), fire on the wharf (challenge 1/10, increases 1/3 every round).

Color

Sails snap in the wind, oarmen row to the beat of drums, a constant ballet of crates, cranes, carts, and ships. Waiting stacks of cargo, the stink of fish and the river, the curses of laborers in the hot sun. Random ropes go every direction through pullies, rings, ships and docks.
