WallsAndGatesWalls And GatesThe walls of the City have never fallen to attack. Betrayal, but never attack. Baked-brick and stone, they rise twice as tall as a man, with a top wider than many of the narrow streets of the City. Broad, squat towers overwatch the walls, and are themselves humbled by the mighty gates, with great cedar doors and gatehouses lavishly tiled with glazed bricks and murals to proclaim the strength and wealth of the city within. The people of the City are so used to the safety provided by these fortifications that they scarcely give them a thought, comforted merely by their everpresent bulk. Hooks

Imposing wooden doors twice as high as a mounted warrior bar the way to foes. Bored guards slouch in the shade while crowds pass through. The King's thieves inspect traders entering the city for unpaid taxes. The grand red and purple banners of the city decorate the towers and gatehouses for holidays and parades. << River Docks | Locations | Menacing Ziggurat >>
